I was born in Guatemala, Central America, and immigrated to the United States in 1975. • Since 2007, I have served the Rosemead Chamber of Business as an Ambassador and as a Chamber Board Director. • For the past 23 years I have worked for the El Monte Union High School District. I Spent 14 years at El Monte High School as a Mathematics Teacher, Department Chair and Guidance Counselor. Since 2003, I have worked as an Adult Education Guidance Counselor for El Monte-Rosemead Adult School. Education: • I earned a Bachelor of Arts and a teaching credential in mathematics from California State University Los Angeles and a Masters Degree in Education and a Pupil Services credential from Azusa Pacific University. In addition, I earned a School Administration credential from Los Angeles County Education Center.
