Chamber History
The Rosemead Chamber had its origins in 1924 as an informal community government known as the Rosemead Improvement Association. Area citizens brought their problems - large and small - before this body, and those issues were given due attention.
The Chamber was formally organized in 1927 and continued to work with the growing community to improve living conditions. Through the years the Chamber studied and promoted several projects: laying out streets; installation of streetlights; zoning regulation; building schools and libraries; organizing fire protection; setting aside civic property for parks; supporting scouting; printing maps and booklets; bringing in a sewer system; traffic regulation; supporting fairs, parades, a band and festivals; establishing a community bank; bringing in the post office and mail service; and finally city incorporation.
Today, the Rosemead Chamber of Commerce continues its commitment to a better Rosemead. Its mission is to foster the growth of the business and professional community, enhancing the quality of life in Rosemead.
